abstract
- Standard terminologies play an important role in FAIR data enrichment workflows in the context of NFDI4Culture, the consortium dedicated to research data on material and immaterial cultural heritage. The Antelope project is a new service from NFDI4Culture which aims to address the specific needs of the culture and digital humanities (DH) research communities when it comes to gaps in service provision for: terminology search across standard vocabularies and ontologies, automation support for entity linking in annotations of digitized cultural objects, and integration of results into existing research data management software. Crucial in the approach of developing the service is the close engagement with stakeholder communities via workshops and user testing sessions, as well as the agile development in several stages of light-weight interactive prototypes, speculative design wireframes, and iterative releases of a public beta instance.
