abstract
- This set contains data collection instruments used in the course of the IDAHO project — Identification of hurdles to open access publishing for researchers with weak institutional ties: epistemic injustice in scientific publishing. It includes the two interview guides and one questionnaire. Interview guide: Qualitative interviews with researchers with weak institutional ties. The goal was to identify and concretely describe obstacles and their underlying mechanisms that researchers with weak institutional ties face in dissemination of their research results open access. Survey instrument developed to validate and quantify findings from qualitative interviews with researchers with weak institutional ties, and to examine whether identified barriers vary by researchers’ location. Interview guide: Qualitative interviews with journal editors. The goal was to assess journal editors’ awareness of the barriers and hurdles faced by researchers wishing to publish open access, and to explore whether journals take any measures to alleviate or eliminate these barriers.
